Sort of like postcards. Only different.

Stir-fried small fry

Do you think this how Anne Geddes got started?

I didn't put him in there, honest. (Those of you who know Christian know that he gets into everything.)

12 December 2008

Where does he get this stuff?

Overheard at our house at dinner tonight:

Me: "Do you want some mustard, Alex?"

Alex: "Just a little. I find mustard a bit spicey for me."

I find mustard a bit spicey? I mean, I can see the content but where did he get the construction?

Inspired

Christian enjoyed the Christmas-cookie decorating party so much, he decided to make some cookies of his own.

Yeah, there's food all over his face but it's cute anyway.

Overheard at our house

Alex, speaking of Christian:

"He's all about the black olives."

Day 10: Birthday boy

This is a series. Notice where his feet are in the first picture and look at where he ends up. (Picture number 5 is my favorite; you know he's gazing up at Alex, right?.)

Day 8:

Again, not taken today. There were moments of cuteness but never near the camera, and anyway I'm slowly turning into the tiredest person in the world, so these are a bit dated.

16 November 2008

Day Seven: Strawberries

(Taken with the little point and shoot, hence the blur - that is just not a good camera anymore!)

15 November 2008

Day 6: Hockey!

It went really well today.

14 November 2008

Day 5: Photos and a poem and perhaps Christian needs a haircut (see picture two, and check out those baby blues while you're at it)

Ode to the Three-Wheeled Bike on a Stick, as Written by an Almost-One-Year-Old

Oh three wheeled bike on a stick!
Where did you come from?
What great god brought you to me
letting me ride a bicycle with no effort at all
(because Mom pushes me from behind
shepherding me through life)?

Oh three wheeled bike on a stick!
Bringing me the illusion of freedom and control
making me feel so grown up
(even though Mom pushes me from behind
shepherding me through life).

Did Lance Armstrong have a three wheeled bike on a stick?
Did Fabian Cancellara?
Did their mothers walk behind them
shepherding them through life
until their boys became men?

Oh three wheeled bike on a stick!
You let me face the world head on
my hands on the handle bars steering
(while Mom pushes me from behind
shepherding me through life).

Until she sees it is safe to let go
and watch me ride away.

Day 4

Not taken today, but cute nonetheless.

12 November 2008

Day 3

Alex wanted to show you his new police car with Blaulichte und Sirene (courtesy of the grandparents). Be sure to tell him that you could totally tell from the picture that the lights were blinking.

11 November 2008

Day 2

(It's a flower.)

10 November 2008

Dada's away day 1

Hey, Dada! Look what I learned how to do today!

Cool, huh? Aren't you proud of me?

07 November 2008

Thoughtful

They both look so pensive. We're feeding the ducks and the swans, so I don't know why their little heads aren't exploding. Instead, they're looking mighty thoughtful.

30 October 2008

Snowboys, snowman

Christian's first time in the snow. I think he'll like it more when we get him a snow-suit that fits properly and he has a chance at mobility. Because Christian is all about the mobility.

Alex preparing for the snowman. It looks like he's burying Christian but he's not, really. Not totally, anyway.

Ta da! Quite the artiste, no?

And seriously, check out the date. We haven't even gone trick-or-treating yet!
