Sort of like postcards. Only different.

A walk in the woods

I love our neighborhood for all the reasons mentioned here, but I've never mentioned that the woods are just two bus stops in the other direction. Truly the best of both worlds. Alex loves riding his like-a-bike in the woods while I follow with Christian in the stroller. He's quite brave on the bike - he had quite an accident after losing control down a little hill but the next day he wanted to go back to the very same spot. I'm so proud he got right back on the bike. He's a tough little guy.

Alex took the next four. He's not bad, huh?

Milestones sweet and sour

Christian hit a few milestones yesterday and today. On the up side, he can sit unassisted for brief periods - a few minutes - as long as he's not already tired out from something else. He's pretty good at using his arms to check himself if he starts falling forward or listing off to one side, but if he starts toppling over backwards he's pretty much helpless as a bug on its back. Once Christian can sit up well, he'll really be able to interact with Alex and I think they're both looking forward to that. Christian, at any rate, is dying to play with Alex (and with Alex' big exciting toys).

On the down side, both of his bottom front teeth are breaking through his gums at the same time, der Arme (poor thing).

At the market

This is my favorite stall at the open air market in Bern. You know winter is over when the pinwheel man puts up his stall.
